LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State busted open a one-point halftime lead with a 30-point third quarter en route to a 80-58 win over the Southern Oregon women's basketball team on Friday night in the LC State Twin Rivers Physical Therapy Classic.
Peyton Souvenir registered 16 points, six assists and three steals to lead four players in double figures for the Warriors (2-0), who shot 70 percent (16-of-23) in the second half with a 5-of-6 mark from 3-point range.
Kiara Burlage and Abbie Johnson contributed 13 points apiece inside, and Jamie Nelson joined Souvenir in the backcourt 12 points and five assists.
The Raiders (1-1) jumped out to an 18-6 lead on
Danasia Allison's 3-pointer six minutes into the game and were up 28-15 after back-to-back
Delaney Sparling triples in the second quarter. Then they went cold, misfiring on 15 of their last 16 attempts from downtown.
Bryanna Raff and
Dominique Harding both scored team-highs of 12 points for SOU. Raff did her damage on 6-of-6 shooting, and Harding added six rebounds, three steals and three assists.
Kenadee Honaker also had three steals, helping the Raiders force 22 turnovers.
They'll turn around to face defending NAIA Division I champion Montana Western at 1 p.m. Saturday.
