ALBANY, Ore. – The Southern Oregon men's wrestling team scored a pair of dual wins Saturday at the Northwest Collegiate Duals – 24-19 over Corban, and 29-15 in an exhibition matchup against Umpqua Community College.

The Raiders improved to 4-5 in dual action with the win over the Warriors, in which they took the first five matches to get out to a 24-0 lead.

After Beau Shatto won by forfeit at 125, Justin Coon (133) finished off a 21-6 technical fall over Ryan Davis early in the second round, Matt Peterson (141) won 9-5 against Joseph Foster, Layn Pannkuk (149) pinned Diego Castellanos, and Nick Peterson (157) finished the run with a 9-1 major decision over Cody Knott.

The win was the Raiders second of the season against Corban.

They took five of eight contests against Umpqua. Nick Peterson (157) and Tanner Sallee (174) recorded major decisions, while Lorenzo Vasquez (125), Josh Hammers (184) and Cylus Hoke (197) won by decision.

SOU wrestled additional matches against competition from Highline C.C. and Warner Pacific. Shatto (125), Pankkuk (149), Noah Talavera (165) and Tanner Clark (285) collected a victory apiece.

The Raiders will be in action next on Jan. 4 at the Menlo Invitational.
