Tate Hoffman led four players in double figures with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists, and Southern Oregon held Evergreen (Wash.) to 37-percent shooting in its 71-54 Cascade Conference win Saturday night at the Costantino Recreation Center.
After letting a 15-point lead slip away in Friday's last-second loss at Northwest (Wash.), the 17th-ranked Raiders (6-3, 1-1 CCC) led by as many as 29 late against the Geoducks (3-3, 0-2). They had a 47-26 advantage on the glass, grabbing 16 offensive rebounds to negate a 6-of-26 showing from 3-point range.
Aaron Borich posted 10 points and a season-high eight assists in helping SOU to 43-percent shooting overall.
Teron Bradford had 10 points, six rebounds and four assists, and
Tez Allen went for 10 points and seven boards.
Off the bench, the Raiders got six rebounds and a pair of 3-pointers from
Kerry Cook and five points and five rebounds from
Josh Washington.
They were up 37-23 by halftime, and Bradford's jumper gave them their biggest cushion at 67-38 with 7:36 to play.
LaBrandon Prince was the only Geoduck in double figures, scoring 13 points to go with six rebounds and three steals.
The Raiders will play their next three at home – hosting Simpson (Calif.) in a nonleague game on Dec. 16 before Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho are in town for CCC contests on Dec. 20-21.
