ASHLAND – Warner Pacific became fifth-ranked Southern Oregon's fifth consecutive straight-set victim on Saturday evening as
Taylor Ristvedt's 13 kills and seven blocks highlighted another tidy 25-14, 25-19, 25-21 win at Lithia Motors Pavilion.
Winners of eight straight overall, the Raiders (13-1 overall, 4-0 Cascade Conference) got an additional eight kills from
Maddie Pernich – she had 18 on the weekend – and hit .283 behind
Hannah Bogatin's 21 assists and
Tehani Faitau's 14.
Ristvedt assisted all but one of the Raiders' blocks and
Elliott Cook was in on five. They coaxed the Knights (1-7, 0-4) into hitting .024, making them SOU's fifth opponent this year that has failed to get to .100.
"Over the course of the last three weeks we've made really incredible strides in terms of our movement, trust and rhythm," SOU head coach
Josh Rohlfing said. "We had more unforced errors tonight than we've been making, but as a whole we're really happy with the improvement from week to week. We thought we could be really good and now that we're starting to see it, it's exciting."
The perfect start has set up an early match for first place next Friday, when the Raiders are slated to visit 11th-ranked Corban in Salem.
Against the Knights,
Emma Ryan had a team-high 10 digs, and
Kadyn Jones and
Myla Norvell had two service aces apiece.
Cook and
Shelby Young both contributed six kills.
Makayla Hoyt had five without an error.
Ristvedt's block output matched her highest since 2016. She also attacked at a .550 average, committing only two errors on 20 tries.
Haley Yoder recorded eight kills and Macy DuCouer had seven for the Knights. Matalassi Laban added 14 assists and five digs.
Since moving in last season, the Raiders are 19-0 at Lithia Motors Pavilion against unranked opponents.
