ASHLAND – Senior forward Tate Hoffman and seventh-ranked Southern Oregon put the finishing touches on a successful regular season Saturday night, shooting a blistering 17-of-32 from 3-point range to notch a 98-83 win against Warner Pacific at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

The 3-point total was the highest in Brian McDermott's 24 seasons as head coach of SOU, and Hoffman shot 6-of-9 from deep and 11-of-15 overall to match a career-high of 30 points while pulling down nine rebounds.

The win put SOU at 22-6 overall and capped their second-place campaign in the Cascade Conference at 16-4. It also set up another matchup with WPU (14-15, 9-11) next week.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Raiders will host the seventh-seeded Knights in the quarterfinal round of the CCC Championships presented by U.S. Bank. The winner will advance to Saturday's semifinal round, and the Raiders will have homecourt advantage in that, too, should they move on.

While sweeping the regular-season series against WPU for the fifth consecutive season, the Raiders also got 20 points from Jordan Hunt, 16 points and seven assists from Aaron Borich and six points and five assists from Conor Carroll on their Senior Night.

The Raiders shot 9-of-13 from deep in the second half. After the game was tied 60-60 with 11 minutes to go, Teron Bradford and Carroll hit a pair and Hoffman made two more consecutively – all within a span of two minutes – to make it 72-63.

Hunt and Jake Virga went on to add two more from beyond the arc over the next few minutes to stretch the lead to 14.

Brad Allen added all nine of his points in the first half, sending the Raiders into the break up 42-40. They shot 53 percent in the game, a night after hitting up Multnomah for a 58-percent clip and assisting 37 of their 50 buckets.

KJ Bosco's 20 points and nine boards led the Knights. Jalen Ballard scored 16 and Kaleb Tompkins had 14.

If each of the top seeds win Wednesday, SOU would host third-seeded Oregon Tech in Saturday's semifinal round. College of Idaho owns the top seed after completing the CCC's first-ever perfect run through the regular season.
