ASHLAND – Southern Oregon shut out Montana Tech in the second half but the first was a different, one-sided story as the Orediggers won 34-14 in a Frontier Conference matchup Saturday afternoon at Raider Stadium.

Diggers quarterback Jet Campbell completed 16-of-30 pass attempts for 247 yards and four touchdowns, two of which went to Trevor Hoffman. Hoffman made three total catches for 88 yards and Kyle Torgeson had three receptions for 89 yards and a score.

Both teams went to 3-4 in the Frontier, putting them in a four-way tie for fourth place with three games to go.

The Raiders' Kehdon Fletcher blocked a punt a minute into the game, setting up SOU's offense at Montana Tech's 8-yard line. A five-yard pass from Matt Struck to Jackson Clemmer put them on the board first.

Things went south quickly after that, starting with Campbell's 58-yard TD pass to Torgeson two minutes later. The Diggers went on to score 34 unanswered points by the end of the half while holding the Raiders to 33 yards of offense on 22 plays from scrimmage.

SOU backup QB Blake Asciutto replaced Struck after an injury and completed 11-of-19 attempts for 117 yards, including a 25-yard TD pass to Bryce Goggin in the third quarter. Goggin finished with 84 reception yards on five catches, and the TD was his fifth of the season.

For the Raider defense, Stokes Botelho and Greg Thomas Jr. both had fourth-quarter interceptions to preserve SOU's second-half shutout. Bryce Kasch recorded nine tackles and Drew Schuler had eight.

The Raiders totaled 189 yards of offense. They'd never previously been under 200 in a Frontier contest.

They'll wrap up their home schedule next Saturday against College of Idaho.
