PORTLAND – The Southern Oregon men's soccer team held on for a 2-1 win Saturday at Multnomah, finishing off a third-place showing in the Cascade Conference regular season.
The Raiders (14-3 overall, 10-3 CCC) scored the first two goals of the afternoon, getting the first from
Noah Addie in the 10th minute and the second from
Luis Navarrete on an assist from
Izaiha Bruce in the 25th.
Multnomah's Axel Mbuyu cut the lead in half in the 32nd minute but the Lions only put one more shot on goal the rest of the day. They ended their season at 2-14-1 overall and 2-10-1 in the CCC.
Following Friday's 4-0 loss at Warner Pacific, goalkeeper
Anthony Armenta got his second start for the Raiders and made two saves.
Navarrete's goal was his fourth of the season and Addie's was his third. SOU registered 20 total shots, including eight on goal, and Multnomah had five.
The Raiders are off until the quarterfinal round of the CCC Tournament on Nov. 9 in Springfield. Their opponent will not be determined until the regular season concludes for others around the circuit on Sunday.
