CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho only trailed for one point and rolled to a 25-21, 25-19, 26-24 win over Southern Oregon behind Emily Vandenberg's 12 kills on Saturday evening at the J.A. Albertson Center.
The loss spoiled outside hitter
Katie Vroman's career-high total of 11 kills for the Raiders (12-13 overall, 7-13 Cascade Conference). The sophomore achieved it on 22 swings while
Hailey Van Well had 14 kills on 27 attempts.
The rest of the Raiders, however, combined for 16 kills and 15 attacking errors.
They've officially been eliminated from postseason contention entering next weekend's final regular season matches against Multnomah and Warner Pacific in Ashland.
The Yotes (13-15, 10-10) attacked at a .303 average as a team and had nine blocks, getting four apiece from Danielle Neuman and Cameron Wallace. They squandered a seven-point lead in the third set but, tied 24-24, got a kill from Vandenberg and a block from Chayla Slavin on back-to-back points to clinch the win.
