ROCKLIN, Calif. – Southern Oregon got 54 points from its bench and rolled to a fourth consecutive victory, 77-36 over Pacific Union (Calif.) on Friday afternoon at the William Jessup Thanksgiving Classic.
No Raider scored more than nine points in the balanced performance, which yielded a season-best clip of 46 percent from the field. The Raiders (6-1) also forced 34 turnovers, the most for an SOU opponent since the 2017-18 season, and limited PUC (0-6) to 24-percent shooting.
"I thought we executed the game plan well today," SOU coach
Carlotta Kloppenburg-Pruitt said. "Everyone came in ready and contributed on both ends of the floor."
Three Raiders scored nine points apiece:
Dominique Harding, who shot 4-of-6;
Mallory Heard, who tallied a career-high by hitting all three of her 3-point attempts; and
Clara Robbins, who pulled down six rebounds.
Izzy Hernandez and
Makayla Scurlock both scored eight off the bench,
Danasia Allison had seven points and five steals, and
Kalei Iwami went for five points and six assists.
The Raiders raced to a 26-7 lead through the first quarter. They were up 32 by halftime.
The Pioneers were led by Olivia Crigler's 16 points. They were the fourth SOU opponent in a row to cough up at least 22 turnovers.
SOU will wrap up at the Classic against the host Warriors on Saturday, tipping off at 3:30 p.m.
