ASHLAND –The Southern Oregon University football team's matchup with MSU-Northern, which was postponed last week, is moving to University of Oregon's Autzen Stadium in Eugene for a noon kickoff on Saturday, though fan attendance will not be permitted.
School officials wanted a concrete destination for MSU-Northern before it set out on a thousand-mile trip from Havre, Mont., and with no other bye weeks on the Lights' schedule, the game needed to be completed this week.
Last Saturday's originally-scheduled game in Ashland was called off due to the unhealthy air quality that continues to loom in the Rogue Valley.
The no-fans policy was a stipulation of the agreement with U of O's administration in consultation with Lane County, which is attempting to suppress a surge in Covid-19 cases.
A live video stream will be provided. Fans who purchased tickets to the game will be automatically refunded.
