Yotes blitz SOU in Caldwell

CALDWELL, Idaho – The No. 13-ranked College of Idaho men's basketball team hit its first eight field-goal attempts and six straight 3-pointers to start the game and stayed the course in a 97-47 Cascade Conference win over Southern Oregon on Friday night at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Raiders (11-9, 8-4 CCC) rode a seven-game winning streak into the matchup but were down 27 points 12 minutes into it. The Yotes (17-3, 11-1) finished up at 9-of-12 from 3 in the first half to take a 50-22 lead into the break. They shot 63 percent for the game.

Drew Wyman scored a game-high 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting, Charles Elzie scored 16 and Ricardo Time had 15 for C of I.

Josh Meyer's 14 points and Atmar Mundu's nine led the Raiders. Their bench – thinned by the absences of Joe Juhala and Jake Virga – was outscored 55-12 by C of I's. Tez Allen wrapped with six points, nine rebounds and two steals.

SOU's 33-percent mark from the field was its lowest since its last meeting with the Yotes, a 17-point loss in Ashland on Dec. 4.

The trip concludes Saturday at Eastern Oregon with a 5 p.m. tipoff.
