SALEM – The No. 3-ranked Corban volleyball team overpowered Southern Oregon in a 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 Cascade Conference sweep Friday night at the C.E. Jeffers Center.
Winners of 15 straight, the Warriors (22-2 overall, 16-1 CCC) got 14 kills from Rylee Troutman and 11 from Makayla Roginski. Ally Schmidt had eight kills on 14 swings and three blocks. Their collective attacking average was .325, the highest for a Raider opponent this season.
Hailey Van Well's 10 kills led the Raiders (16-8, 10-7).
Hannah Randall amassed 24 assists, six digs and three service aces. They turned just 30 of their 114 attacks into kills, hitting .096.
SOU threatened to make the match interesting, leading 17-12 in the second set before the Warriors responded with an 12-2 run.
SOU plays a 7 p.m. match Saturday at Bushnell, which is tied for Evergreen (Wash.) in third place and one win ahead of the Raiders.
