SIOUX CITY, Iowa – NAIA All-American middle Ady Dwight was as unstoppable as advertised in No. 6 Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.)'s 25-15, 25-15, 25-21 sweep of Southern Oregon in the NAIA Championships Pool F opener Wednesday night at the Tyson Events Center.

Dwight, a 6-foot junior who has logged the third-most kills in the country, had 19 and assisted seven blocks against the Raiders. Her kill total was the highest for an SOU opponent in a three-set match this season, and she reached it with efficiency on a .385 attacking average.

The Tigers (24-7 overall) hit .254 as a team and kept the Raiders (22-11) at a .082 average by stuffing them with 13 blocks.

Katie Vroman recorded nine kills and Sadie Byrd had eight to lead SOU. Carol Melo totaled six kills and four blocks, and Karina Oliveira corralled 17 digs.

The teams were tied 11-11 in the first set before DWU unleashed a 10-3 run, during which Dwight supplied four kills. The Tigers dominated the second set but trailed 10-5 in the third before eventually tying it at 18. At that point, Dwight and Abigail Brunsing took over with two kills apiece in a 4-0 spurt.

Mackenzie Miller checked in with 11 kills and five blocks for the Tigers. Madeline Else assisted 37 of their 41 kills.

The Raiders play their final pool match at 5 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday against No. 10 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.). Their only path to bracket play is a sweep of MNU followed by an MNU sweep of DWU on Friday. In that scenario, the tiebreaker would go to the team that won the highest percentage of points in the pool.
