TALENT – Southern Oregon produced four All-Cascade Conference runners and finished second in the team standings for the fourth consecutive season in the CCC Championships presented by U.S. Bank on Friday at Colver Road Fields.

The No. 11-ranked Raiders accumulated 49 points, while No. 7 College of Idaho rolled to its fourth consecutive title with 17 – the lowest score for a championship team since 2015.

Making her first appearance at the conference meet, Lauren Forster led SOU in seventh place with a 5,000-meter time of 19 minutes 11.3 seconds. In a race that featured 11 returning all-conference runners, Alejandra Lopez improved 14 spots over her place a season ago, finishing ninth in the 65-person field in 19:17.6.

Kayla Clayton repeated as an All-CCC performer in 10th place (19:17.6), finishing hundredths of a second behind Lopez. Sydnee Kizziar attained All-CCC status for the third time in 12th place with a time of 19:29.4. The Raiders' fifth scorer, Haylee Brodahl, was 16th in 19:46.5. She was just one spot removed from all-conference recognition for the second straight season.

SOU was comfortably ahead of No. 21-ranked Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), which totaled 83 points. Oregon Tech was fourth with 136.

"The women ran well despite, again, not being 100 percent healthy," SOU coach Grier Gatlin said. "We seem to have different people step up every week, and with Brodahl under the weather, Kizziar and Lopez really helped. Forster ran a really smart, solid race too. Hopefully we can get the women's team all healthy before the national meet."

The Raiders are expected to received an at-large bid to the NAIA Championships – set for Nov. 18 in Tallahassee, Fla. – when the field is announced next week.

C of I earned the conference's automatic bid. A familiar cast kept the Yotes on top, led by Ellyse Tingelstad, who defended her individual title in 18:27.9. Their Sage Martin was the runner-up for the second year in a row, and two more Yotes occupied the Nos. 3 and 4 spots on the leaderboard.
