McMINNVILLE – Southern Oregon was too much for Linfield's newly-resurrected men's wrestling team as the Raiders won 37-12 in their first dual matchup since 1980 on Sunday at Ted Wilson Gymansium.
The Raiders mounted a 31-0 advantage while taking the first six matches of the afternoon, getting pins from 125-pounder
Mitch Warren, 141-pounder
Anthony Perez and 157-pounder
Travis Thorpe during the run. They improved to 5-0, marking the team's best start since it won its first six duals in 2012-13.
Warren and Thorpe pinned Jacob Moore and Jack Barrett in their first rounds, while Perez finished off Jacob Jarvis with 15 seconds left in the third period.
Andrew Herrera later posted a first-round win by fall over Darrius Walker at 197.
Evan Potter, SOU's No. 2-ranked 133-pounder, added bonus points with an 8-0 major decision over Kellen Hanson, and No. 7-ranked
Aaron Gandara held on for a 6-4 decision over Micah Worthington at 149.
Ayden Wolgamott won by forfeit at 165 for the Raiders' other points.
