PORTLAND – Multnomah ended the Southern Oregon men's basketball team's winning streak at four games, holding on for a 71-65 win Friday night at Lytle Gym.
Neyland Block scored 18 points and Zack Richardson had 17 for the Lions, who trailed by as many as nine points in the first half but ended it with a 21-4 flurry over the final seven minutes to take a 41-32 lead into the break.
After they pushed the advantage to 15 midway through the second half,
Joe Juhala's 3-pointer cut it to 67-64 with 2:12 to go but the Raiders never scored again.
The Lions went to 7-5 overall and 2-4 in the Cascade Conference. SOU fell to 7-5 and 3-3.
Atmar Mundu poured in 21 points for the Raiders, shooting 8-of-11 from the field and 5-of-7 from 3. Juhala added 12 points and six rebounds, hitting 3-of-5 attempts from downtown. The rest of the Raiders, however, combined to go 9-of-42 from the field and 2-of-23 outside.
SOU finished at 34 percent from the field, marking its first sub-40-percent showing of the season.
The Raiders play at 5 p.m. Saturday at Warner Pacific, which scored an 87-86 win Friday over Oregon Tech to bring its CCC record to 4-2.
