Balanced attack leads No. 4 EOU past SOU

Box Score Sade Williams led a balanced attack for fourth-ranked Eastern Oregon as the Mountaineers came away with a 25-23, 25-15, 25-20 victory over 16th-ranked Southern Oregon tonight at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

The Mountaineers improved to 18-1 overall and 11-1 in Cascade Conference play, while the Raiders slipped to 15-5 overall and 8-4 in conference. Southern Oregon hosts College of Idaho Saturday night at 5 p.m.

Williams finished the match with nine kills, while teammate Keira Vaughn had seven kills, Kiauna Mack finished with six and Mylie Mills added five.

Eastern finished the match with a .238 attack percentage, including a .400 clip in the second set.

SOU was led by eight kills by both Marin Mackey and Megan Perry and seven kills apiece from Sadie Bryd, Hannah Stadstad and Carol Melo.

Victoria Mattos led SOU with 18 assists, while both Trinity Atuatasi (11) and Mackey (10) had double-digit digs.
