Raiders down 19 3s in rout of Cal Maritime

ASHLAND – Southern Oregon hit 19 3-pointers on 39-percent accuracy, put seven players in double figures and hit a season-high point total midway through the second half in a 101-64 win against Cal Maritime on Wednesday afternoon at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

Redshirt-freshman Bryce Dyer flirted with a triple-double, recording 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting, 12 rebounds, eight assists and two steals as the Raiders moved to 2-3 in non-conference play. They attempted 49 shots from beyond the arc and made more than in any game in at least 20 years; their previous high this season had been 10.

Mason Whittaker shot 4-of-7 from deep to score 14 points. He made two of those 3s to start a game-opening 15-0 run from which the Keelhaulers (0-7) never recovered.

Teron Bradford added 11 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. The junior point guard triggered an offense that assisted on 28 of its 36 total buckets.

Khalil Chatman had 10 points and six rebounds, Elijah Jackson and Cole McAninch scored 11 apiece off the bench, and Dominic McGarvey came in to contribute 10 points, five rebounds and four blocks. Emmett Fenz, making his collegiate debut, chipped in three 3-pointers.

The Raiders had advantages of 32-12 in second-chance points, 28-13 in points off turnovers, and 49-44 in bench points.

Daniel Andreyev's nine points led the Keelhaulers.

SOU jumps into Cascade Conference play next week against top-ranked College of Idaho on Dec. 1. Eastern Oregon comes to town Dec. 2.
