ASHLAND – The No. 20-ranked Southern Oregon men's wrestling team overpowered Arizona Christian with wins in eight consecutive contested weight classes to take a 35-10 Cascade Conference dual Friday night at Bob Riehm Arena.

Andrew Herrera, ranked No. 16 at 197 pounds, put the finishing touches on the run with a second-round pin of Michael Moreno. In the preceding match, SOU 184-pounder John White scored a takedown late in the third period for the tie and another early in overtime to upset No. 17 Kaden Martin, 8-5.

The Raiders upped their record to 2-1 entering Saturday's 5 p.m. home dual against Linfield.

Their lineup – minus three injured ranked individuals – dominated to make up for a forfeit at 133 pounds. In addition to pins for Herrera and 165-pounder Noah Talavera (who finished off Christian Gallardo in the first round), they collected their other six wins by a combined score of 57-12.

Travis Thorpe, who defeated Channing Porter at 149 pounds, and No. 8 Alex Hernandez, who thumped Bronson Swan at 174, both won by technical fall. Dylan Straley, ranked No. 21 at 157, scored a 9-0 major decision against Rico Robles. Vonn Fenn added another shutout, 2-0 over James Maheras at 125, and 141-pounder Anthony Perez got Terrell Kinlicheenie by 3-2 decision.

The Firestorm dropped to 3-3. They're winless in three all-time matchups against SOU. Heavyweight Kaiden Cisneros gave them their lone contested victory of the night with a 14-3 major decision over Sebastian Echeverria.
