OLYMPIA, Wash. –
Atmar Mundu's hot-shooting weekend continued and Southern Oregon's balance kept Evergreen (Wash.) down in an 85-61 Cascade Conference win Saturday evening at the Costantino Recreation Center.
Mundu shot 7-of-9 with 18 points for the second night in a row, this time hitting 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. The senior guard scored in double figures for the 29th consecutive game, and four other Raiders joined him as they upped their record to 16-8 overall and 12-6 in the CCC.
Entering their final home games of the regular season next weekend, they stand tied for fourth place and one game back of second.
SOU shot 50 percent from the field for the third game in a row.
Dominic McGarvey went 6-of-8 with 13 points, eight rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals.
Tez Allen had 14 points, five assists and five rebounds, and
Will Graves scored 12.
Freshman
Bryce Dyer – a North Medford product who debuted Friday at Northwest (Wash.) and will retain his redshirt status as long as he appears in fewer than 20 percent of SOU's games – came off the bench to record 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting with a pair of 3-pointers and five rebounds.
Brett Hollins had eight points and seven boards, and
Josh Meyer distributed eight assists – his fifth game in a row with at least six.
The Geoducks (1-19, 1-16), who got 18 points from Tyler Williford, have lost 22 straight matchups against SOU.
The Raiders are at Lithia Motors Pavilion next Friday to face Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday to face Walla Walla (Wash.) at 9 p.m.
