CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Southern Oregon's inaugural beach volleyball season came to an end Friday in the quarterfinal round of the NAIA West Group Qualifying Tournament as the Raiders fell 3-1 to No. 7-ranked Saint Katherine (Calif.) at the Elite Athlete Training Center.
No. 2 pair
Taylor Jackson and
Karina Oliveira collected SOU's lone win, rallying to take down Gabby Alexander and Casside Salcido 19-21, 21-16, 15-12. The pair led the team with seven wins on the season.
USK clinched the team victory when it got its third win in the No. 5 pair match, ending the No. 1 match before its completion.
"Our team has continued to improve throughout the season, and today was no exception," SOU coach
Paul Elliott said. "We feel motivated to get back to work right away and we look forward to 2024."
The Raiders wrapped up at 3-12. USK advanced with a 10-5 record.
