ASHLAND – After working the kinks out and experiencing the highs and lows of life on the road for the last month, the Southern Oregon women's soccer team is finally back at Raider Stadium, where the results in recent history have been staggeringly consistent.

The Raiders (4-3-1 overall, 1-0-1 Cascade Conference) host Corban (3-2-2, 1-0-0) on Friday and Bushnell (1-3-0, 0-1-0) on Saturday in CCC play, set for 2:30 p.m. starts both days on their home-opening weekend. After starting the year with three consecutive victories, they'd lost three straight until leaving Portland with a four-point road trip last week.

NAIA TOP 25: The Raiders continued to receive votes in this week's NAIA coaches' poll at No. 39 overall, based largely on the quality of their win against then-No. 9 (and current No. 14) Embry-Riddle (Ariz.). At No. 17, College of Idaho is the CCC's only team in the Top 25. Eastern Oregon is also receiving votes, sitting three spots outside of the Top 25.

LAST WEEK IN REVIEW: Warner Pacific took a point off the Raiders for the first time since 2014 in Friday's 1-1 draw, scoring an equalizer in the 50th minute after Mia Ammons put SOU in front with an assist from Frida Vargas in the 14th. The Raiders had 11 additional shots on goal in the game they didn't convert, but ended their winless streak with a 2-0 decision Saturday at Multnomah as Malaika Quigley scored twice in an eight-minute span. Payton Puppe-Wotipka assisted her second goal.

BRIEFLY:
  • Malaika Quigley's brace at Multnomah was her second of the season and put her at No. 19 on SOU's all-time goals list with 10 in her career. She, Sarah Mauk (2022) and Baylee Touey (2019) are the only Raiders with multiple two-goal games in the same season over the last 10 years.
  • The Raiders are 42-8-6 at home since moving into Raider Stadium in 2014. They're 10-1-1 in Ashland over the last two seasons, have shut out seven of their last eight visitors and held 13 in a row without more than one goal.
  • SOU coach Jenni Rosenberg (2013-present) is five victories away from becoming the team's first 100-game winner. Her overall record is 95-64-21, and her teams have gone 70-30-10 in conference play.
  • Junior goalkeeper Ashlynn Hernandez is sitting on four shutouts this season and 17 overall at SOU, putting her at No. 3 on the Raiders' career list. Her current save percentage of .873 is the second best in the CCC, and her career percentage of .888 is the second best in SOU history.
  • Of SOU's 10 goals scored, true freshmen have accounted for half of them.

ABOUT CORBAN: Picked fifth in the CCC preseason poll, the Warriors are unbeaten in their last four games and started conference play with a 3-1 win over Bushnell. Alysia Alvarado (4 goals, 1 assist) and Fatima Jimenez (3 goals, 1 assist) are their go-to attackers, and as a team they're giving up 1.4 goals per game. SOU has won the last three matchups and is 12-21-3 in the overall series.

ABOUT BUSHNELL: The Beacons have never defeated SOU, going 0-17-2 since the series originated in 2006, and have been shutout in the last five meetings. They got their only win this season against Lewis & Clark and have been outscored 9-3 in four outings. Before the L&C victory, they'd lost 25 in a row (excluding a forfeit win) dating back to 2021.
