Raiders' Walk, McIntyre light up College of Idaho

CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho had no answers for Kami Walk or Meghan McIntyre, who combined for 50 points in No. 24 Southern Oregon's 77-59 win Saturday afternoon at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

Walk, a senior forward, shot 6-of-10 from the field with four 3-pointers and sank all 10 of her free-throw attempts to compile 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists. McIntyre, a junior point guard, was 9-of-14 with a pair of triples to score 24 in her most efficient outing of the year. They became the first Raider teammates to go for 20-plus in the same game this season as SOU completed its first sweep of the road trip to C of I and Eastern Oregon since 2008-09.

The Raiders, winners of five straight, moved to 15-4 overall and 11-2 in the Cascade Conference and now stand tied for second place with No. 20 Oregon Tech. Clinging to a 30-28 lead, they opened up the game when a pair of Walk free throws in the final seconds of the first half triggered a 13-2 run, holding the Yotes (5-15, 5-9) to one bucket over the opening four minutes of the second.

McIntyre – whose go-ahead layup with four seconds left on Friday gave SOU its first regular-season win at EOU in 15 years – hit the 20-point mark for the third time this season and has now been in double figures 16 times. Walked followed up a 28-point performance the first time around against C of I with the third-highest point total of her career. She shot 8-of-12 from 3 and 20-of-20 at the line combined in the teams' two matchups.

Izzy Hernandez contributed nine points by hitting both of her 3-point attempts, helping the Raiders go 11-of-20 from downtown as a team. Clara Robbins chipped in five rebounds and three blocked shots.

SOU's 47-percent clip from the field was its best in 13 games.

Mia Austin's 16 points led the Yotes, who have dropped eight of their last nine games against SOU.

The Raiders continue their five-game road swing next weekend at Warner Pacific and Multnomah. It concludes Feb. 6 at OIT.
