ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon University volleyball team met the maximum number of Academic All-District selections with four, the College Sports Communicators announced.

The Raiders' honorees were sophomore setter Annie Hite, senior libero Kayla Neidigh, and senior right-side hitters Megan Perry and Hannah Stadstad.

The award is designed to recognize student-athletes for a combination of their performances on the field and in the classroom. To become eligible, an individual must be at least a sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and participate in at least 90% of their team's games or start two-thirds of them.

All four of SOU's Academic All-District selections are now eligible to be considered for the Academic All-America team, which will be announced in January.

Hite, part of the setting tandem that led SOU to the fourth-best attacking average in the NAIA, maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA as a psychology and pre-nursing major. Neidigh, who completed her career with the third-most digs in team history, earned a bachelor's degree in education studies with a 3.81 GPA and is currently working on a master's of arts in teaching.

Perry, who was named to the NAIA All-America first team this week, has a 3.98 GPA as a business administration and management major. Stadstad, a first-team NAIA All-American last year, has a 3.72 GPA in the health and exercise science program.

The honorees helped the Raiders go 32-4, win Cascade Conference regular-season and tournament championships, and advance to the national semifinal round for the first time. On Wednesday, they were awarded their highest ranking ever at No. 3 in the postseason NAIA Top 25 poll.
