No. 24 Raiders pound Evergreen for 10th consecutive win

ASHLAND – No. 24-ranked Southern Oregon scored the first 16 points against Evergreen (Wash.) on a stress-free Saturday afternoon at Lithia Motors Pavilion, winning its 10th consecutive Cascade Conference game 74-43.

Meghan McIntyre scored in double figures for the eighth game in a row with 13 points and six assists, Clara Robbins shot 5-of-5 with 10 points and seven rebounds, and Kami Walk compiled nine points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals for the Raiders (20-4 overall, 16-2 CCC). Following their fast start in the first quarter, they went 11-of-14 from the field in the second to build a 26-point halftime lead.

SOU's winning streak is its longest in CCC play since the 2017-18 season. With four regular-season games to go, the Raiders remain one game back of first-place Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) and one game up on third-place Oregon Tech. They've hit the 20-win mark for the 10th time in 11 seasons.

They got nine points and five rebounds from Mallory Williams and six steals from Keeley Wright off the bench. Izzy Hernandez made 3-of-4 attempts and a pair of 3-pointers to score seven points, and Emma Schmerbach had five rebounds and four assists.

The Raiders improved to 10-1 at home. They've held their opponents under 50 points in seven of those games and under 60 in nine of them.

The Geoducks (6-14, 6-12), who shot 28 percent from the field and committed 20 turnovers, were led by Allison DeBerry's 11 points and four assists.

SOU plays its final conference road games next weekend, visiting fifth-place Bushnell on Friday and seventh-place Corban on Saturday.
