SOU up to No. 22 in NAIA Top 25 poll

ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon women's basketball team was rewarded Wednesday for its active 10-game winning streak with a two-spot bump to No. 22 in the NAIA Top 25 coaches' poll.

The Raiders (20-4 overall, 16-2 Cascade Conference) stole the slot from Oregon Tech, which they defeated 75-68 last week in Klamath Falls. OIT fell to No. 25 in the poll, while first-place Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) climbed one spot to No. 6, making upward progress for the first time in two months.

SOU has wins against three teams currently among the Top 25: No. 14 Providence (Mont.), No. 24 Menlo (Calif.) and OIT. Each was secured away from Ashland.

With four regular-season games remaining, the Raiders have already hit the 20-win and are in strong position to make their fourth consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance. They're also very much alive in the CCC championship race – one game behind LCSC, which visits Lithia Motors Pavilion on the last day of the regular season, Feb. 24. They're on the road this weekend, traveling to Bushnell on Friday and Corban on Saturday.

One final poll will be released Feb. 28.
