*Update: Karly Scott (101 pounds) has been awarded a wild-card bid for the NAIA Championships, giving the Raiders a total of 12 national qualifiers.

ATHERTON, Calif.
Carolina Moreno captured her second Cascade Conference title and Caitlyn Davis and Shenita Lawson both won their first for No. 4-ranked Southern Oregon at the CCC Championships presented by U.S. Bank on Sunday at Haynes-Prim Pavilion.

The Raiders' three individual championships weren't quite enough to take the team prize, which went to top-ranked Menlo (Calif.). SOU held a brief two-point lead in the standings after Lawson pinned her opponent, Lily El-Masri of Vanguard (Calif.), in the 170-pound final, but top-ranked Menlo heavyweight Tavia Heidelberg-Tillotson followed with a fall in the tournament's final match to give the Oaks 176 ½ points to the Raiders' 172 ½.

Six Raiders joined their trio of champions in the All-CCC ring: runners-up Emma Baertlein (109 pounds) and Marissa Kurtz (116), and third-place finishers Lia Ferreira (101), Fernanda Lopez (123), Desinee Lopez (136) and Bella Amaro (143). Fourth-place Liv Villanueva (109) and sixth-place Kaylee Annis (116) joined them as automatic qualifiers and fifth-place Karly Scott (101) received a wild-card bid for the NAIA Championships, giving SOU a full lineup of 11 individuals to defend its national title March 8-9 in Jamestown, N.D.

Moreno, a two-time national champ ranked No. 1 in the NAIA at 130, and Davis, ranked No. 1 at 155, both remained undefeated on the season. Moreno – a junior who won her previous titles at 123 – breezed through her bracket, opening with back-to-back pins and shutting out No. 3 Louisa Schwab of Menlo by 10-0 technical fall in the final. Davis had perhaps the most challenging road to first place, knocking off three consecutive top-seven opponents – No. 7 Liv Wieber (10-0), No. 6 Flor Parker Borrero (11-0), and Menlo's No. 3 Shannon Workinger (9-4) in the final.

Lawson, ranked No. 8 at 170, was also dominant. She opened with a technical fall, then pinned Vanguard's No. 19 Abena Adu and No. 5 El-Masri back-to-back in the semifinals and championship.

Baertlein, ranked No. 3 at 109, repeated as an All-CCC finisher and made the final for the first time but was edged 4-3 by Providence (Mont.)'s Paige Morales after advancing to the match with a pair of bonus-point victories. The No. 12-ranked Kurtz upset Providence's No. 11 Arieana Arias by first-round fall to reach her final. Menlo's No. 6 Ajayzee Zaballos got her for the title, 11-4.

The Raiders went 4-1 in their third-place matches. At 101, Ferreira scored an 8-4 decision against Vanguard's Abbeygael Cabuag, and at 123, Fernanda Lopez cruised past Evergreen's Ellabelle Taylor by technical fall. Desinee Lopez delivered an upset at 136, taking a 10-6 decision from Menlo's Stephanie Chavez, and Amaro bounced back from an upset loss in the semifinals to pin Providence's No. 16 Kailey Rees in her 143 third-place bout.

The Raiders cleared third-place Providence – which entered ranked No. 5 in the NAIA coaches' poll – by 28 ½ points. They more than doubled up fourth-place Vanguard.

Menlo was represented in seven of 10 finals, with teammates matching up in two of them. The Oaks boasted four champions.
