ASHLAND – The No. 15-ranked Southern Oregon men's wrestling team put the finishing touches on a stellar dual season by avenging its only Cascade Conference loss, 35-6 over Corban on Saturday night at Riehm Arena.

The Raiders claimed the first five matches of the night and clinched the outcome by the end of the seventh, wrapping up at 14-3 overall and 10-1 against CCC opponents. The win total matches their highest since the 2009-10 season.

No. 10-ranked Aaron Gandara (157 pounds), Adrian Chavez-Morales (184) and No. 16 Andrew Herrera (197) all registered first-round pins.

Vonn Fenn, a freshman 125-pounder, put momentum on SOU's side early by controlling No. 16-ranked Brayden Boyd throughout a 5-1 upset. Simon Graeber, ranked No. 10 at 133, followed up with a 10-5 decision over Blake Runion in a match he trailed early before taking the lead with a near-fall that beat the second-period buzzer.

After top-ranked Evan Potter's 31st consecutive dual victory – 8-4 against Bo Davis – freshman 149-pounder Jonathan Hernandez's technical-fall shutout of Lance Stover and Gandara's fall against Gus Menne, the Raiders had a 20-0 advantage.

No. 6 Alex Hernandez (174) edged out No. 18 Tyson Stover in the only top-25 matchup of the night, prevailing after three extra sessions with a riding-time advantage. Chavez-Morales and Herrera followed with their pins.

Matthew Bartlett (165) and Sven Lukner (285) picked up Corban's only wins of the evening by decision. Two months ago the Warriors defeated a shorthanded SOU lineup, 26-10.

The Raiders are off next week before traveling to La Grande for the CCC Championships, set for Feb. 16-17 inside Quinn Coliseum.
