PORTLAND – Tied with Multnomah at the two-minute mark of the third quarter, the No. 24-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team rattled off a 27-2 run to bust open a 79-51 win Saturday afternoon at Jim Skagen Court.
Kami Walk scored a game-high 19 points, and one of her three 3-pointers broke a 43-all deadlock to open the push.
Meghan McIntyre went for 13 points and six assists, and
Izzy Hernandez had 13 points and five rebounds.
The Raiders (17-4 overall, 13-2 Cascade Conference) trailed by 14 points in the first quarter before rallying to tie the score by halftime. They hit at 48 percent from the field and held the Lions (5-17, 2-14) to 27 points on 11-of-44 shooting over the final three quarters.
Clara Robbins totaled eight points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots, and
Mallory Williams hit a pair of 3-pointers to reach eight points off the bench.
The Raiders' season-best winning streak is at seven games. They and No. 22 Oregon Tech are tied for second place in the standings – 1 ½ games behind Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) – entering Tuesday's 5:30 p.m. clash in Klamath Falls.
