PORTLAND – Thirteen Raiders cracked the scoring column and none played more than 20 minutes in Southern Oregon's balanced, 83-51 victory over Warner Pacific on Saturday evening at Perry Gymnasium.
The Raiders went to 9-6 overall and 4-5 in the Cascade Conference, salvaging a split of their road trip with a 51% effort from the field that saw them hit 18-of-28 attempts with eight 3-pointers during the second half. The Knights (8-7, 3-7) shot 26%, the lowest mark for an SOU opponent in three years.
Four scored in double figures:
Elijah Jackson (12 points),
Gabe Reichle (11 points, 5 rebounds),
Brady Rice (11 points, 5 rebounds) and
Khalil Chatman (10 points).
Jacob Axmaker and
Etan Collins scored nine apiece.
Axmaker and Reichle both shot 3-of-4 from 3, and Jackson was 2-of-3. After ending the first half up 37-26, the Raiders opened the second with back-to-back 3-pointers from Collins and Reichle to start a 24-6 run.
The Raiders have won 19 regular-season games in a row against WPU, which didn't produce a single starter with more than seven points.
Jackson scored eight of his points during the first half, eventually hitting double digits for the seventh time in eight games. Rice did all of his damage during a game-ending 13-minute shift.
WPU misfired on 13 of its 15 attempts from 3. The Raiders have yet to make fewer triples than an opponent this season.
They return home next week to face Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) at 2 p.m. Friday and Walla Walla (Wash.) at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
