Raiders cruise to 42-point win over Evergreen

ASHLAND Bridgette McIntyre stayed hot from 3-point range and Emma Schmerbach had a career-high eight of Southern Oregon's 23 assists in an 82-40 rout of Evergreen (Wash.) on Friday night at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

The No. 4-ranked Raiders, making the latest home debut in team history, moved to 12-0 overall and 6-0 in the Cascade Conference with another crisp outing on both ends. McIntyre – who has hit at 56% beyond the arc over her last 10 games – connected on 4-of-7 attempts, a couple of which were assisted by Schmerbach, who added 12 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots to her line.

Morgan Baird scored 13 points and Meghan McIntyre had nine with five boards and three assists as the Raiders shot 46% collectively. Led by Shakia Teague-Perry, who went 5-of-6 from the field in just six minutes of action, the bench supplied 30 points. Eliza DiGiulio pitched in nine.

SOU led the Geoducks (1-7, 1-5) 25-12 after hitting five triples in the first quarter, then held them to four points in the second. Clara Robbins helped limit them to offensive rebounds on just seven of their 48 misses by pulling down seven of her nine boards on the defensive end.

The Raiders hit 10-of-24 from 3, marking the second-most makes of the season for the NAIA's third-most accurate squad. They also mounted a 42-14 advantage in paint points.

They've defeated three consecutive opponents by 30-plus points. The latest blowout gave them 26 straight regular-season wins dating back to last season, including 20 in a row in CCC play.

Sydney VanNess scored a team-high 13 points for the Geoducks, who last won in Ashland 13 years ago.

The Raiders, four wins away from matching the best start in team history, are home again at 3 p.m. Saturday to face Northwest (Wash.).
