PORTLAND – The Southern Oregon men's soccer team couldn't break through on the scoreboard but picked up a quality result, leaving third-place Warner Pacific with a 0-0 draw on Friday afternoon at Eastside Timbers Sports Complex.
Senior goalkeeper
Casey Ruvolo made five saves in his 28th career shutout for the Raiders, whose record went to 9-4-4 overall and 4-4-3 in the Cascade Conference.
They stand in seventh place with one regular-season game remaining and could clinch a CCC Tournament spot as early as Friday night if ninth-place Corban loses. At the time of publication, Corban trailed Rocky Mountain 2-0 in the first half of their matchup.
SOU got all three of its shots on goal from
Irwin Leon in the second half.
The Knights (10-4-2, 6-3-2) had two potential game-winning attempts stopped by Ruvolo in the final 10 minutes of play.
Three of the teams' last five matchups have ended in ties.
The Raiders play their final CCC game at 1 p.m. Sunday at Walla Walla (Wash.).
