ASHLAND Tais Vega had a senior night to remember with a career-high five service aces and 14 digs, leading Southern Oregon to a 25-7, 25-10, 25-19 sweep of Evergreen State (Wash.) on Friday night at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

The Raiders (12-12 overall, 9-8 Cascade Conference) climbed over the .500 mark in CCC play for the first time entering their final three matches of the regular season, each of which will be against NAIA Top 25 opponents.

Fresh off an upset of No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon, they sped out to leads of 10-1 in the first set and 9-0 in the second.

Friley Curtiss had a team-high eight kills as part of a .217 team attack orchestrated by Annie Hite (13 assists, 8 digs) and Amanda Moffat (8 assists, 2 digs). Andressa Ribeiro Soares, SOU's only other senior, had five kills and four digs and Maya Watters needed only 11 attacks to compile six kills.

Behind Vega, the Raiders had 12 aces in all, their second-highest mark of the year. Hite, Ribeiro Soares and Maelle Garon contributed two apiece.

Vega's dig total was the second-best of the year in a three-set match. She helped sink the Geoducks to a negative-.110 average as they accumulated 27 attacking errors compared to 17 kills.

Sophia Scroggins led the Geoducks (1-20, 1-16) with 11 kills, eight of which came in a third set that her team led 15-14.

The Raiders ended the night tied in sixth place with College of Idaho. Their final home match of the regular season is 6 p.m. Saturday against No. 21 Northwest (Wash.).
