ASHLAND Megan Perry took home the Cascade Conference's U.S. Bank Scholar Athlete of the Year award on Tuesday to complete one of the most distinguished seasons ever for a Southern Oregon volleyball player.

Following her senior season during the fall, Perry was named a first-team NAIA All-American and the CCC Player of the Year. She starred as a right-side hitter for a Raiders team that became the first to advance to the national semifinals and attained a No. 3 postseason ranking, the program's highest yet.

Later, she became the first player in team history to earn a selection the Academic All-America first team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators. She was also named the SOU business department's student of the year.

Perry – a product of Snohomish, Wash., who joined SOU prior to her junior season via Bellevue C.C. (Wash.) – has a 3.98 cumulative GPA as a business administration and management major. She served for the past year on the CCC's Association of Student-Athletes Committee.

She is just the third Raider, and second SOU women's student-athlete, to get the CCC Scholar Athlete of the Year nod.

On the court, she averaged 3.3 kills per set on a .382 attacking average that ranked third in the NAIA. She added 0.8 blocks per set, and her .413 attacking average in conference play was the highest for any CCC player since 2016.

Her work helped SOU win conference regular-season and tournament championships for the first time since 2019, along with a 32-4 record that gave the team its highest winning percentage (.889) yet.

The Raiders advanced for the fifth time in six seasons to the NAIA Championships, where Perry was named to the All-Tournament team. In four matches at the final site in Sioux City, Iowa, she accumulated 47 kills and 11 blocks.
