SALEM —The Southern Oregon women's soccer team spurted off three consecutive second-half goals to secure a 3-2 win over Corban on Saturday evening at the Outdoor Athletic Complex.
Tori Lasch's game winning score came in the 86th minute to help the Raiders improve to 9-2-4 overall and 6-2-2 in the Cascade Conference. The goal upped the lead to 3-1 before the Warriors scored a penalty kick just two minutes later. For the second night in a row, Lasch delivered a ball into the net sent from Abby McKean.
Both teams went scoreless in the first half, but it was Corban (6-7-3 overall, 4-4-2 CCC) that tallied first after a goal from forward Haley Miersma in the 50th minute.
SOU's Kaylah Bresee scored her first goal of the year after punching in a 56th-minute PK to even the score 1-1 and Brycelin Endrikat gave the Raiders the lead with a 66th-minute goal from Carter O'Shea.
The Raiders fired off 12 second-half shots after matching five Corban shots in the first 45 minutes. Ashlyn Fuss helped keep the Warriors off the board, making six total saves with four coming in the second half.
Brooklyn Hayes took three shots on goal, Lasch and Endrikat both had another, and McKean delivered two shots on target herself. Corban keeper Jordyn Labajo made nine saves.
Entering the final week of the regular season, the Raiders sit in fourth place in the CCC standings. They'll play their last two matches in Ashland next weekend against last place Walla Walla (Wash.) on Friday and eighth place Warner Pacific on Sunday.
