Raiders take down another Top 25 foe in OT

KLAMATH FALLS – The Southern Oregon men's basketball team worked overtime to pocket its second Top 25 win in as many days at the Lithia-Oregon Tech Classic, 82-76 over No. 17-ranked The Master's (Calif.) on Saturday at Danny Miles Court.

Forwards Jace Anderson and Luke Wagstaff combined for 35 points and Brady Rice came up with two big plays in the extra session, giving the Raiders (2-1) their eighth victory against a nationally-ranked opponent since the start of 2025.

They went 15-of-31 from 3-point range behind Wagstaff, who knocked down five of his seven attempts downtown to score a career-high 19.

After leading by as many as eight points in the second half, the Raiders trailed 68-61 with just over three minutes remaining until Anderson beat the shot clock with a last-second heave that went down from 3. Bryce Dyer sliced into a four-point deficit with 52 seconds left by scoring inside and drawing a foul. He missed his ensuing shot at the line, but Gio Evanson grabbed the offensive rebound, leading to two Anderson free throws that tied the score.

Anderson opened the scoring in OT with a tip-in, and Rice drained a 3-pointer at the 3:15 mark that gave the Raiders a 76-72 lead. The advantage was still four when Rice clinched the outcome by getting into a passing lane for a steal with 28 seconds to play.

Anderson finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots. Dyer just missed a double-double with nine points and nine boards, and Liam Bunker added eight with a pair of 3-pointers. Isaiah Bronson supplied 10 of his 13 points after halftime.

SOU overcame a 29-point performance by Kelson Gebbers, who shot 9-of-11 with four 3-pointers in the second half.

The Raiders were a little more than 24 hours removed from a 79-69 win against No. 20 Hope International (Calif.). They'll face both TMU and HIU again at Hope's Thanksgiving Classic.

They'll head to Montana next week to face a pair of Frontier Conference foes: MSU-Northern on Friday and Carroll (Mont.) on Nov. 15.
