CALDWELL, Idaho –
Lexi Ramirez's masterful start and a four-run second inning enabled top-ranked Southern Oregon to bounce back from a 3-2 Game 1 loss with a 5-1 Game 2 win against College of Idaho on Friday at Symms Field.
The opener of the Raiders' second Cascade Conference was series in their control until Yotes catcher Hallie Campbell broke up
Ayla Davies' shutout and erased SOU's 2-0 lead with a three-run home run in the sixth inning. C of I pitcher Drew Williams then retired the Raiders in order in the seventh, finishing off a complete game in which she contained all of SOU's damage within the first inning.
Ramirez went the distance for the Raiders in Game 2, allowing six hits with six strikeouts and no walks in improving to 6-2. She added a third-inning RBI single.
By then, the Raiders had already opened up a big lead. With one on and two out in the second, five straight batters reached base.

Kalea Thomas both stroked RBI hits before
Vanessa Lang bounced a two-run single up the middle to make the score 4-0.
The Raiders went to 17-7 overall and 2-3 in the CCC. The Yotes, who were swept last week at No. 4 Oregon Tech, went to 12-8 and 1-4.
Lang, a senior second baseman, finished the day 3-for-8. She doubled and scored a run in Game 1.
Thomas was 2-for-6 with a run scored and a stolen base in the doubleheader, also drawing a pair of walks. Ramirez the other Raider with multiple hits and has now surrendered one or no earned runs in four different complete games.
The teams will play two more starting at 10 a.m. PT on Saturday.
