ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon University athletic department earned another spot on the Cascade Conference Presidents' Cup list for academic excellence on Wednesday, the CCC office announced.

To become eligible for the distinction, a department's CCC-sponsored teams must combine for a GPA of 3.0 or better for the year. Additionally, at least 60% of the student-athletes who have been enrolled long enough to qualify for Academic All-CCC status must do so.

In 2025-26, the Raiders' CCC-affiliated teams – or the entire athletic department except for football – registered a combined 3.41 GPA, the second-highest in school history. SOU also produced 122 Academic All-CCC honorees, which marked a 70% rate.

"Earning the Presidents' Academic Excellence designation represents the highest academic honor our departments can earn from the Cascade Conference," CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell said. "It is a great accomplishment and recognizes the outstanding efforts in the classroom."

Competitively, SOU was second in the 2025-26 CCC All-Sports Standings after winning the championship trophy in 2024-25.
