ASHLAND – Picked third in the Cascade Conference preseason coaches' poll, the Southern Oregon University women's soccer team will have some familiar foes to contend with on the heels of a record-breaking 2025.

College of Idaho was favored to win its fourth consecutive CCC championship and Eastern Oregon came in next ahead of SOU in the poll, which was released Tuesday by the conference office. The Yotes received nine first-place votes and the Raiders were among four teams that picked up one apiece.

SOU compiled the highest win total in team history last season at 14-3-3 overall, finished second in the CCC table at 10-1-1, and was an NAIA Tournament qualifier for the second time in team history, advancing to the second round. Eight starters are back from that team, including six who were named on the all-conference list. Jenni Rosenberg, the team's 14th-year coach, has 18 total returners.

C of I lost three of its top-four scorers but has won all but one conference game over the last three years – the lone exception being an upset at the hands of the Raiders last fall in Caldwell. EOU, which went 10-2 in the CCC regular season and knocked SOU out in the CCC Tournament quarterfinals, returns five starters.

Rocky Mountain (Mont.), Carroll (Mont.) and Oregon Tech immediately followed SOU in the poll.

The Raiders play their first regular season game Aug. 29 at Life Pacific. A year ago at this time, they were picked to finish fifth in the conference.

The preseason NAIA Top 25 coaches' poll will be released Aug. 19.
