Biography
2018-19: Finished with a 14-11 record and earned an at-large bid at 125 pounds for the NAIA Championships, where he went 1-2 with an upset of the bracket’s third-ranked individual to reach the quarterfinals… Placed seventh at the Cascade Conference Championships after advancing to the semifinals… Was ranked as high as No. 5 in the NAIA and No. 7 going into the postseason… Won his first four dual matches, including three wins against ranked opponents, and finished with a 5-2 dual record.
Prior to SOU: Competed as a freshman and sophomore at Southwestern Oregon Community College… Was ranked as high as No. 4 as a sophomore and became a National Junior College Athletic Association Championships qualifier.
High School: Graduated in 2015 from Ontario High.
Personal: Born Francisco Barrera on Dec. 12, 1996 in Ontario, Oregon… Parents are Carmen and Jose… Has two brothers, Jose and Jesus, and two sisters, Alma and Carmen… Majoring in outdoor adventure leadership.
