Biography
2019 Track: A member of the Academic All-Cascade Conference team… Recorded a personal best in the 10K of 39:55.37 to place fifth at the CCC Championships… Placed fourth at the Raider Invitational in her only attempt of the season at the 5K (18:45.74).
2018 XC: Was SOU’s seventh finisher and placed 154th of 340 at the NAIA Championships with a time of 19:10.3 on the 5K course… Took 25th of 74 at the CCC Championships (19:00.4)… Registered her best 5K time of the season (18:51.3) at the William Jessup Invite, placing 25th of 97, and her best 6K (22:59.9) at the Lewis & Clark Invitational… Earned Academic All-CCC plaudits.
2018 Track: Scored for the Raiders as a true freshman in two events at the Cascade Conference Championships – the 1,500 (4:50.58) and the 5K (18:47.66), placing seventh in both races and clocking a personal best in the former event… Had a season-best of 18:42.74 in the 5K at the SF State Distance Carnival… Was the runner-up in the 1,500 at the Pacific Twilight (4:53.40).
2017 XC: Came in as SOU’s third scorer in her first appearance at the NAIA Championships, placing 109th of 338 overall in a 19:07 5K and helping the Raiders to 15th in the team standings… At the Cascade Conference Championships, took 19th of 76 (19:23.2) and was SOU’s fourth scorer in a third-place team effort… At the William Jessup Invite, ran 5K in 18:43.5 and took 21st of 77.
High School: Graduated in 2017 from Phoenix High, where she was a four-year scholar athlete and a member of the National Honor Society… As a senior, was the cross country champion and Female Runner of the Year in the district, going on to place sixth at the state meet… In track, won the 3K district title and placed second in the 1,500, and went on to capture sixth place in both at the state meet… Was all-conference all four years in XC, and placed highest in the state meet (fifth) as a junior… Left with the fifth-best XC time in PHS history along with the fifth-best 3K time in track.
Personal: Born on June 16, 1999 in Portland, Oregon…The daughter of Diane and Gary Potratz…. Has a younger sister, Kya… Father played football at Pacific University, where he established a school record for yards per catch in a season, and later served as an assist women’s basketball coach… Majoring in communications.
