2024: Named the Frontier Conference Offensive MVP, becoming the first running back to win the award in eight years as a sophomore for the Raiders ... Selected to the NAIA All-America and Walter Camp All-America first teams ... Led all NAIA players with 1,488 rushing yards in 11 games and ranked second in rushing yards per game (135.3), rushing touchdowns (27) and total touchdowns (29) ... Broke SOU's single-season records for rushing and total TDs ... The first SOU underclassman to land on the All-America first team in 27 years ... Named the NAIA Player of the Week following a performance against College of Idaho on Sept. 21 in which he rushed 31 times for 293 yards -- the third-highest single-game total in Raider history -- with four touchdowns on runs of 10, 40, 59 and 68 yards ... Averaged 6.4 yards per rush and eclipsed 100 yards in seven of 11 outings ... Ran for 269 yards on 21 attempts Nov. 9 against Eastern Oregon, garnering his second Frontier Player of the Week award ... Registered multiple TDs in 10 games and at least one in all 11 ... Compiled 263 reception yards on 21 catches, and had season-highs of six receptions and 78 yards with a TD at Montana Tech on Oct. 5 ... 2023: Retained a redshirt while appearing in just two games after a return from injury ... Rushed seven times for 35 yards in his season debut Oct. 28 at Carroll and had nine carries for 51 yards with a long of 23 on Nov. 4 at Eastern Oregon ... Also made five receptions for 86 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown at EOU ... Dominated SOU's spring 2024 exhibition against Kwansei Gakuin with 14 rushes for 145 yards and four touchdowns to go with three receptions for 50 yards and a TD.

2022: Enjoyed a standout freshman season for the Raiders, ranking second among Frontier Conference players in yards per carry (6.1) and fourth in rushing touchdowns (8) while appearing in nine games ... Compiled 607 total rushing yards on 100 attempts, going for 50-plus yards in each of his final six outings, and also made eight catches for 101 yards and a score ... Became the first Raider since 2014 to rush for over 200 yards in a game, going for 212 on 18 carries in just three quarters of work at Montana Tech on Oct. 22, running in TDs of 1, 68 and 70 yards ... Scored all nine of his TDs over a four-game stretch.

Personal: Born on Jan. 16, 2004 in Coos Bay, Oregon ... The son of Amy and Griff Yates; has two older brothers, Sy and Caiden ... His father is the only three-time NAIA All-American in Raider football history, and still stands at No. 2 on SOU's career lists for rushing yards (4,559), rushing touchdowns (57) and rushing yards per attempt (6.6); mother is also an SOU alum ... Majoring in business management.

High School: Graduated in 2022 from Coquille High ... Named the 2021 OSAA Class 2A Offensive Back of the Year as a running back and hit the all-state first team at linebacker ... Led Coquille to a state title, and broke an all-classifications championship game record with 388 rushing yards while scoring five touchdowns ... A two-time selection to the Les Schwab Bowl, where he ran for two TDs in 2022 ... Earned OSAA Class 2A Offensive Player of the Year accolades as a junior ... An all-state defensive back and all-league running back as a sophomore, and an all-league DB as a freshman.
