Biography

2018: Ranked second among all Raider receivers in receptions (26) and reception yardarge (416), averaging 16.0 per catch and 46.2 per game over nine starts... Tied for the team lead with three reception TD and was also SOU's top kickoff return man with 34.3 yards per attempt on nine tries, including a 95-yard TD return on Oct. 13 against Eastern Oregon that matched the sixth-longest in Raider history... Had season-highs of six catches on two occasions, and made three for a season-high 129 yards on Nov. 10 against Montana Western... Also on Nov. 10, recorded a 74-yard TD reception.

2017: Was SOU's fourth-leading receiver with 22 catches for 454 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore... Had a season-high 117 yards with a 47-yard touchdown catch on Oct. 28 against Montana Western... Totaled five catches during the NAIA Championship Series, including a season-long 50-yard grab in the first round against Dickinson State.

2016: Became an impact player for the Raiders during his true freshman season, starting all 11 games for the Raiders at outside receiver... Ranked second on the team in both receptions (34) and receiving yards (505), averaging 14.9 yards per catch... Scored his first career touchdown on an 81-yard reception during SOU's 31-27 win over College of Idaho on Oct. 1, finishing the game with five catches for 113 yards... His second touchdown was a 53-yard grab in the season finale against Montana Tech on Nov. 12... Made at least one catch in SOU's final 10 games, and totaled 50-plus receiving yards on five occasions.

Personal: Born on April 4, 1998 in Vallejo, Calif... Graduated in 2016 from Benicia High (Calif.), where he set school records for receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns... As a senior he amassed 71 catches for 1,223 yards and scored 17 total TDs, and was named Solano County Athletic Conference offensive player of the year after leading Benicia to its fourth straight league title... Named the 2015-16 Vallejo Time Herald Athlete of the Year... The son of Shannon and Phillip; has an older sister, Bria, and two younger sisters, Jada and Sanaya... Father played football at Fresno State, uncles played at Fresno State and University of Washington, and grandfather played at Utah State; his cousin, Rashaan Salaam won the 1994 Heisman Trophy as a running back at University of Colorado and played four seasons in the NFL; and his other cousin, Greg Smith, was selected in the 2011 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets and has played 149 games over the last five years.
