Cheyenne Bricker enters her sixth season as an assistant coach for the Southern Oregon University softball team in 2023, just months after being voted the NFCA’s Easton NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year.
A product of Bieber, Calif., Bricker was a pitcher for the Raiders in 2014 and ’15. She joined Jessica Pistole’s staff in 2017, having been part of the most successful era in Raider softball history, and for the last two years has served as the SOU athletics eligibility coordinator.
The Raiders have qualified for the NAIA Softball National Tournament every year during Bricker’s tenure, making four World Series appearances. She was recognized for being part of NFCA NAIA Coaching Staffs of the year after the Raiders won national championships in 2019 and ’21.
Bricker has been particularly instrumental in the development of SOU's pitchers. The Raiders have ranked top-two among Cascade Conference teams in earned-run average four of her five seasons on staff and produced the NFCA NAIA Pitcher of the Year, Gabby Sandoval, in 2019. In 2020 she was Pistole's top assistant at the University of San Diego, helping the Toreros go 15-12 in the abbreviated season before returning to Ashland.
Bricker attained a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s in interdisciplinary studies from SOU.
