Biography

Prior to SOU: Attended San Jose State out of high school (2013-15), where he was a member of a Mountain West Conference title team and his best 8K cross country time was 27:28 on Oct. 19, 2013 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational… Moved on to Cuesta College for one season (2015-16) and became an Academic All-American after finishing as an All-Western State Conference performer… Posted personal bests of 4:10.30 in the 1,500 meters and 17:06.96 in the 5K.

Personal: Born on March 1, 1996 in Clovis, Calif… A 2013 graduate of Buchanan High, where he was twice an all-conference performer in cross country (finishing fourth overall as a senior) and was also a member of the school’s record-holding 4x400 relay team (4:24)… Mother is Amy, and his father, James, was a runner and member of the crew team at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo  before becoming a professional triathlete… Has a younger sister, Josephine, and an older sister, Maggie… Majoring in outdoor adventure leadership.
