Desiree Scott enters her second season as part of the SOU volleyball staff in 2016 following a decorated playing career at New Mexico State University and brief stint as a professional player in France.
Born in Amsterdam, Scott grew up in Tucson, Ariz., and went through Catalena Foothills High before attending NMSU from 2010-14. As a middle-blocker, she became the Western Athletic Conference player of the year in 2014 and etched her name in the school record books for blocks and hitting percentage. She helped the Aggies to conference titles in 2012 and ’13 and obtained a bachelor’s degree in community health.
Scott played professionally for Entente Saint-Chamond Volley in Saint-Chamond, France, upon her graduation. Along with joining head coach Josh Rohlfing’s staff as the lead assistant, she is enrolled in SOU’s master’s program for business administration.
Scott has a 2-year-old son, Kai Joel. They live in Ashland with her mom, Lisette Jarmon, a nursing supervisor at Ashland Community Hospital, and her sister, Noelle.
