Southern Oregon University senior punter
Steve Palmer (Eugene, Ore./Sheldon) has been named the NAIA Independent Special Teams Player of the Week.
Palmer averaged 41.7 yards on six attempts in Southern's 27-16 setback to NCAA Division I Sacramento State last Saturday. Palmer also uncorked an 81 yard punt that ranks as the second longest in school history.
The Raiders travel to NCAA Division III Willamette on Saturday.
Waldorf College's Colten Harris and John Lawson won the offensive and defensive player of the week honors.
