Southern Oregon's
Bryan Lee- Lauduski (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad) and
Jason Young (Los Angeles, Calif./St. Marys) were named NAIA Independent Offensive and Defensive players of the week in week one of the 2008 season.
Lee-Lauduski, from Carlsbad, Calif., completed 29-of-41 passes for 240 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Southern Oregon's 30-25 season-opening victory over No. 21 Montana Tech. Lee-Lauduski helped the Raiders overcome a 12-0 deficit to claim the victory.
Young, from Los Angeles, helped fuel the comeback a pair of interceptions.Young finished the game with seven tackles and two picks for 28 yards.
Nine schools compete as independents in NAIA football.
SOU hosts Humboldt State Saturday at 6 p.m. at Raider Stadium.
