NAIA Release

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA dispersed love to eight different Southern Oregon University squads when the national office released its 2013-14 Scholar Team list last week.

To become eligible for the honor, a team must have a collective grade-point average of 3.0 or better for the academic school year.

The Raider men's basketball team's 3.48 GPA was the highest in the sport at the NAIA Division II level. The SOU women's soccer team (3.47), volleyball team (3.39), women's cross country team (3.35), women's basketball team (3.25), softball team (3.24), women's track and field team (3.12) and men's cross country team (3.02) were also recognized.

The Ashford (Iowa) men's golf team, which combined for a 3.86 GPA, was the NAIA Scholar Team of the Year.
