Forty-seven Raiders make fall Academic All-CCC team

ASHLAND – A total of 47 student-athletes from Southern Oregon University's fall sports teams were named to the Academic All-Cascade Conference team Monday, the league office announced.

To be selected for the honor, one must have been enrolled at the school for at least a year and reached sophomore academic standing with a minimum grade-point average of 3.2. A total of 380 student-athletes were recognized throughout the conference, but only Corban was represented by more than SOU.

Enjoying one of the best years in team history, the Raider women's soccer team led the way with 15 representatives: Lauren Aldana (political science), Kylie Durant (accounting), Lisa Elledge (health and P.E.), Sarah Garoutte (criminology), Jacqueline Laird (English and writing), Presley Lambert (film and media), Macaylea Mitchell (environmental studies), Kylie Moltzen (environmental studies), Kelsey Randall (business), Andi Rasmussen (health and P.E.) Serena Robertson (education), Simone Schroder (pre-nursing), Megan Smith (pre-nursing), Makena Totushek (pre-nursing) and Mia Volpatti (health and P.E.).

SOU's third-ranked men's cross country team put 10 on the team: Ryan Alexander (undeclared), Caleb Diaz (economics), Travis Heitzenrader (criminology), Noah Oberriter (pre-nursing), Aidan Paulk (psychology), Kevin Poteracke (mathematics), Ray Schireman (biochemistry), Ben Stevens (health and P.E.), Mark Sussman (business) and Matthew Williams (mathematics).

For the 15th-ranked women's cross country team, Aspen Abbott (pre-physical therapy), Natalie Berania (pre-physical therapy), Kayle Blackmore (communications), Marisa D'Orfani (accounting), Emily Lamb (biology), Jessa Perkinson (psychology), Morgan Pfunder (business), Jocelyn Schmidt (business) and Bree Weber (biology) were recognized.

The Raider volleyball team had nine on the list: Kiley Barcroft (pre-nursing), Hannah Bogatin (business), Emma Gasman (accounting), Natalie James (sociology), Nila Lukens (environmental studies), Courtney Macklin (education), Lauren McGowne (education), Taylor Ristvedt (environmental science) and Ariana Sattler (biology).

Checking in for SOU men's soccer were Takoda Daubel (pre-medicine), Paul Matyas (undeclared), Greg Rapet (pre-physical therapy) and Daniel Zamores (health and P.E.).
